Algebra ( Continuing patterns )

Today for maths room 16 went through all of the answers to a maths task we got given for homework yesterday. I finished mine last night. The maths we are doing is called algebra. Algebra means continuing patterns. I have an example of one at the bottom. Enjoy and please comment:)

Patterns and Sequences

Each group of numbers follows a pattern. Find the patterns, and for each one write down the four next numbers. Then write the rule in brackets.

  1. 5, 9, 13, 17, 21, 25, 29, 33...      (+4)
  2. 23, 30, 37, 44, 51, 58, 65, 72 ...   (+7)
  3. 4, 9, 14, 19, 24, 29, 34, 39... (+5 )
  4. 27, 23, 19, 15, 11, 7, 3 (-4 )
  5. 61, 55, 49, 43, 37, 31, 25, 19... (-6)
  6. 100, 97, 94, 91, 88, 85, 82, 78... (-3)
